The two ladies arrested at an Elk Grove lodge Monday on suspicion of pimping an adolescent confronted costs Wednesday in Sacramento Superior Court.
Destiny Tenaya Pettway, 25, and Maria Westley, 31, of Sacramento will return to courtroom Jan. 5 on pimping and pandering fees related to the Monday arrest. Elk Grove police credited an alert Uber driver with the tip that led to the arrests of the 2 ladies later recognized as Pettway and Westley and the invention of a 16-year-previous who had been reported to authorities as a lacking individual.
Officers went to the lodge within the 9100 block of West Stockton Boulevard about 7:45 p.m. Monday, detaining Pettway and Westley outdoors, in accordance to police. Officers discovered Disney Vang, 20, inside a lodge room with the 16-year-previous, in accordance to Elk Grove police. Authorities suspect Pettway and Vang organized for the teen to meet Vang.
Pettway faces felony counts of unlawfully inflicting a minor to interact in a business intercourse act, pimping a minor and threatening or encouraging a minor 16 or older to interact in prostitution. The sufferer was taken to an alternate housing location, police reported.
